"WITH RIMS" models for hanging toms with suspension brackets are slightly lager to accommodate most rim suspension systems and shell mounted tom brackets such as Ludwig ATLAS and Yamaha YESS brackets, whereas standard tom models (not designated as "with rims") will have a snug fit for "virgin" toms with only lugs and hoops.
