Some of the best flying RC airplanes are reconstructions of 1930's and 1940's free flight models converted to fuel or electric power. The one I selected is called the Flying Quaker. It has a 7 foot wing span and weighs about 5 pounds, ready for takeoff.  



This model is great for electric power. Lots of lift and room for batteries.
