Our lamps have a wire so you can hide the battery brick in a building, or really anywhere in your build. The wire is about 40 cm long with some variance as these are 100% handmade (Yes this includes the drilling and soldering!). The wires are thin yet strong :) If you want to hide the wires then place them between the studs. If you accidentally place on on a stud and put a brick on top the clutch power of the LEGO bricks will of course cut the wire in two. If this happens (and I promise you would only do it once!) you can always splice them but just be careful and it will never happen. 
Should you decide to use them for some other purpose these light up kits are compatible with LEGO, MEGA BLOKS and KRE-O as well as other major brand bricks and base plates.
