SteelPak...The most effective vacuum sealer bags.

Our Bags are BPA Free, FDA Approved for Use with Food

This listing is for fifty (50) one quart size, 8"x12" bags.

This is a bag that ShieldPro Flexible Packaging developed and designed specifically for the vacuum seal marketplace. It is an embossed (It has textured air channels which allow the air to be pulled out by a vacuum sealer) vacuum sealer bag and a long term food storage aluminum foil Mylar bag combined into one bag. Unlike regular Mylar Food storage bags which are smooth on the inside, these work with many home type vacuum sealers. *(Please see the note at the bottom of this listing before purchasing for your FoodSaver machine!)

What is the advantage of the foil layer? Well...no matter how thick a plastic (clear) bag is, oxygen will eventually make it through because plastic is a poor long term vapor barrier. This is true of even a five gallon bucket. That is why folks who store buckets of emergency food for long term will line the bucket with an aluminum foil-based Mylar bag. The foil layer in the bag is a vapor block and can add years to the storage life of the product. Think of a bag with a foil layer as a flexible metal can.

These bags are 100% opaque, as one of the enemies of long term storage is light and unlike other clear vacuum bags, our bag blocks air, moisture and light.

As with everything we sell, shipping is free, and we are priced below the competition!

*(Note) We have found that because of the thickness of these bags, some of the cheaper vacuum sealer units may have trouble getting a good seal on them because the heat bars do not get hot enough. It may be necessary to seal twice back to back to get a good seal with some units.  Cabela's Pro series machines work with the bags, as well as Vacmaster's line of mid-duty sealers (The Pro 350 for example). For FoodSaver's, you will have to cycle it at least twice to get a good seal. Pretty much any more heavy duty or commercial machine should work fine. It is the cheap units that you may find at Walmart for example that we had a little trouble with.

Thanks!
