Available for your consideration is this spectacular Iznik-Style Belgian cloisonné vase by Boch Frères, Art Deco era circa 1930's.

This hand painted large vase is decorated with a central floral medallion amidst intersecting floriated tendrils. Colorful floral design utilizing strong painted colors (blue, turquoise, orange, light green, cream, and white) on a crackle white background. Vase has a unique set of shaped handles. Two images are used on this vase. Front and back are identical and the sides are the inverted front and back, very nice. The rim and the base of the vase are glazed a deep blue while the cloisonné treatment of the body enhances the vibrancy of and distinction between the colors. 

This vase either originally came as or was made into a lamp at some time. The base has been filled as shown. It measures a massive 20 1/2" (52 cm) tall, 7 3/8" (19 cm) wide with a 6" (15 cm) upper lip diameter. 

Signed on the bottom with an importers mark along with several coded Boch Frerers symbols. No Boch Freres mark present. Importer was Friedlander Buying Service of New York (FBY in a circle with Y). 

Using the book "Art Deco Ceramics, Made in Belgium - Charles Catteau" by Marc Pairon - Fondation Charles Catteau the following marks were identified. 

Other marks include: 

an impressed #78, pg 542 /inventory of forms height approx. 50 cm

Production #D69 (Christie's South Kensington 4/2016 shows same production)

"Crackled enamel" glaze as shown in book

K refers to "Faience Kioto" as described on pg 206

There is no doubt that this is a Boch Freres Keramis vase.

In excellent antique condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.

This large vase will make a stunning statement in any decerning office or home.
