This is an original Lucas distributor from a 1960 MGA. It will fit other MGs and other British cars as well, but this one has the correct advance curve for a pushrod MGA from 1956 through about 1961.

It turns freely and the centrifugal advance weights seem to work and release properly. The vacuum advance unit is stuck; don't know if it might free up, but I would assume that a new one would be a good idea. There is some minor wear to the shaft bushing but it's not bad. It would be prudent to install a new bushing but not strictly necessary, especially if you fit an electronic ignition such as a Pertronix. We sell those at a discount.

We also sell distributors for other MGs and Triumph Spitfires, so check our other auctions or send us an email if you are interested.

Thanks for looking, and please see our other auctions for more British bits, or email or call +1413 259 and then 1722 us for new or original Lucas parts or parts for MG, early Jaguar, or Volvo 122 or British bicycles and parts. We are Lucas specialists and speak the British car language fluently!
