Kashaka Pro® – Large are the 50mm version of the regular sized 45mm Kashaka Pro (see other items for sale). The sound & strength is of the same high quality. They are very strong, and have a slightly deeper, mellower ‘clack’ sound and a drier shake sound than the 45mm model.

Note: 50mm Kashaka are too large for most beginners hands! 45mm Kashaka Pro are recommended for beginners & 38mm for children and adult players with smaller hands. (see other items for sale).

Kashaka Pro® have been developed to create a Kashaka with the level of quality & durability that would be expected of a professional percussion instrument, while also being affordable for the casual player and for beginners. They are also robust enough to be used in educational settings, workshops, classrooms etc.

Developed in UK by a professional percussionist & experienced Kashaka player (see videos) - Kashaka UK make genuine professional quality Kashaka Pro instruments - these are high quality strong playable instruments which will not break when played. Great for use as regular shakers too, with crisp sound & precise playability, suitable for performance, recording, workshops etc. The plastic used has shock absorbing qualities, which softens the sound, making it closer to natural gourd sound, unlike the hard ABS plastic versions, which have a harsh, unpleasant clack noise and can hurt the ears if played for long. The shock absorpsion also means that Kashaka Pro won't break if dropped. ABS plastic is hard and brittle & can crack when playing or if dropped.

Kashaka UK are driven by the love of rhythm & Kashakas, not just by money & profit. Every Kashaka is carefully crafted by hand in UK to bring you the best Kashaka experience. By buying Kashaka UK products you are supporting an independent artist & musician.

Watch the videos below to see that these are genuine professional quality instruments, made by Kashaka specialists for Kashaka players.

The completely spherical high density plastic balls, all with equal sizes, shapes and equally balanced filling helps with the ability to control and to play more advanced kashaka skills. This balance of size, shape and weight also helps with very consistent playing, timing & dynamics – very smooth shaker sounds & clear balanced clicks.

Strength: ‘Made to be Played’ – Kashaka Pro are very strong and will not break during use or if you drop them while playing, nor will they get crushed in your pocket or bag etc. These are possibly the strongest Kashaka available - much stronger than gourds or wooden kashaka, and do not crack like ABS plastic which is hard and brittle.

Sound: Very good balance between click & shake sounds. Each ball is filled with tiny metal split beads, giving a very smooth shake sound. The small metal beads give very good action & control when played as regular shakers, while also having great balance & momentum when played with kashaka techniques. The plastic used has shock absorbing qualities, softening the click to a more natural sound so that they do not have the same harsh unpleasant click sound that hurts your ears like ABS plastic kashaka.

Feel: Very smooth, while not too slippery. Very good handling and control for playing advanced skills and moves.

Size: 50mm spherical balls suitable for large hands or anyone who prefers a larger Kashaka. (smaller 45mm & 38mm versions also available - see other items for sale).

Weight: Approx 40g per Kashaka (2 balls/1 hand).

Rope: The multi plaited rope is comfortable in the hand and is very strong. Heat sealed ends to prevent fraying. Adjustable for all hand sizes. Properly Adjustable = knot on outside of the balls for quick & easy adjustment.

Colour: Over time & with a lot of use, a slight silver/grey discolouration can occur inside the balls caused by the metal bead filling. This does not affect the sound or playing of the Kashaka in any way.
