Vintage 1980s DOXA Ref. 4653 SUB 600T “Divingstar” Diver Auto Watch ETA Cal 2872

A true automatic diver from the 1980's with a sparkling 'shark tooth' dial, set of cool black hands and the crown re-positioned to 4h by Aubrey who also started using bezels with inserts. The orange dial [Aubry issued Divingstars with both orange and yellow dials], set of 3 hands and bezel are simply stunning. The case measures 39mm or 43mm including the logoed crown at 4h. Comes with its original/logoed steel bracelet with diver extension.

Dial

Immaculate orange 'shark tooth' dial with Tritium hour battons and date window at 3 o'clock.

Hands 

The original black hour, minute and second hands are complemented by the Tritium lume.

Case

The stainless steel divers case is exceptionally clean, unpolished and still retains its sharp edges. It is in very good condition with just minor marks from wear. It measures 39mm across excluding the crown. The crown is unusally located at the 4 o'clock location. The bezel is in fabulous condition with matching Tritium marker.

Case Back

The original screw fit case back is stainless steel with just a few tiny marks from wear.

Crown

The watch has the original branded crown and it changes the time smoothly.

Movement

The watch case houses an ETA Calibre 2872 movement which is clean and running very nicely. I do not know the service history of the watch but it is currently working extremely well and keeping good time.

Crystal

The watch has the original crystal.

Band

The watch is hung on the original Doxa signed stainless steel bracelet. The links are not stretched and it has the divers extension to allow it to be work over a wetsuit.

Please note this is a vintage watch dating from 1980s. As with all period pieces it would benefit from a service and regular servicing to keep it running smoothly. Whilst this is a diving watch I cannot guarantee it for water tightness. If this is required I would recommend you have it pressure tested.
