Antique Prattware Satyr Frog Mug c.1800

This attractive piece of Prattware pottery has the mug bowl modelled as a satyr's head on a pedestal foot. The interior of the mug has a yellow frog moulded to the side. The traditional range of Prattware colours are well represented by the hand painted decoration.

Condition report:

The mug is in excellent condition with no

post production cracks or restorations to the piece. There are two small firing cracks to the mug interior, present since manufacture. The frog's legs were moulded with the bowl and the body of the frog was added by hand so it is possible to see a gap where the legs attach to the frog but this was done at the time of manufacturing and is not a fault. Please inspect the photographs closely to assess the condition and quality of this handsome piece.
