This listing features an all original 1942 Freundlich General Douglas MacArthur doll, 18" tall, all molded/composition, painted facial features, molded hat, dressed in detailed military uniform, doll is unmarked, had a hang tag (not included). Includes original belt and shoes. In near mint to mint condition with little to no wear whatsoever.As clean as you will ever see one. Only used for display through all the years. No repairs. Measures approximately 18".
Ralph A. Freundlich first worked for the Jeanette Doll Company from 1923 to1929, he also formed the Silver Doll & Toy Manufacturing Company in 1923 until 1924 which made Mama dolls.
Ralph A. Freundlich, Inc. operated out of New York City from 1929 until 1934, then moved to Clinton, Massachusetts and are best known for their composition novelty dolls.
Many of Freundlich's dolls are unmarked so they can be a challenge to identify.
Freundlich operations ceased in 1945 when they filed for bankruptcy.
