Pair of hand painted  Mintons plates

Antonin Boullemier

Both of these plates are 23 cm diameter and both are hand painted and signed.
Both plates are pierced earthenware
Antonin Boullemier  came to England in 1870 from the French Sevres factory and was active as a renowned Minton decorator in the later 19th century.

These plates are circa 1875 and both carry the impressed Minton mark and one has a dare code that can be read as 1875 - the other has marks less easy to read.

One depicts a musician  and the other a smoking Cherub - Cherubs being what Boullemier was most famous for.

Condition
Clear top glaze crazing on both and expected as the plates are glazed earthenware

No chips or damage and no restoration

Excellent examples of rare and sought after Minton
