for sale are many different types of steel sections ideal for welding, cutting, drilling etc
cutting tolerance are +/- 2mm but i always try aim for exact or slightly longer
it is quite typical for lengths to come 10mm - 100mm longer than you choose
mild steel often arrives with slight surface rust and will easily wipe off with wd40 and a cloth
