This is a light weight modular Shot Put, Hammer, Weight Throw Circle. Using keyed foam mats we cut out the proper size 2.135 meter throwing circle. We used a large CNC router to cut a smooth accurate circle to the proper size. The pads lock together to form the throwing circle. We use dumb bell weights to hold the circle down or you can use any heavy object on two of the four corners or all four corners. The mats are approximately 3/4 inch thick. Circle is accurate to within .5 diameter due to expansion and contraction of foam. We get material in 3 different colors and depending on availability the one shipped may be sky blue, silver/grey or black,
My daughter throws shot, discus, hammer and weight and I made the circle so that we could practice indoors in a gym or warehouse with a concrete floor. We have used it outdoors on concrete and also asphalt for foot drills and some throwing when we did not want to travel to the cage.
It is light, easy to setup and take down and takes up minimal room.
When Gill and others are getting $2,000 or more for plywood circles that are bulky and don't transport well we tried to come up with something that a thrower could have at home or a school could afford to have 3 or 4 and not break the budget.
This is meant for practice only and allows any thrower to have their own circle to work with for under $150.
Or at a school you can have 2 or 3 throwing stations running at once and get more foot work and technique practice in for the throwers.
