  • Description:  This lot consists of ten (10) booklets total.  Five (5) have imprints as described below & five (5) do not have imprints.  Each booklet contains 10 - 21t stamps depicting a Bird of Paradise.

Five (5) of the booklets in this lot contain the imprint:  "R.J. Bates" & "Leigh - Mardon Melbourne, Australia" as shown in the first set of photos.  When this booklet was originally issued in 1993 it contained stamps printed in 1992.  There must have been a very limited amount produced with the 1993 stamps as they are extremely hard to find.  Please notice that the top of the stamp strip is creased.  This is because it overhangs the edge of the booklet and gets creased by the closure tab.  This is due to the way the stamp strip is folded.  I have enclosed photos of both the 1992 & 1993 stamp booklets.  The 1992 stamps are accordion folded so the strips fit comfortably within the booklet cover.  The 1993 stamps are folded in a 4 x 4 x 2 stamp configuration so they do not quite fit and some of the selvedge overhangs.  You will receive 5 booklets containing the scare 1993 stamps only.  The 1992 stamp version is shown only to illustrate the difference in the fold.

The other five (5) booklets in this lot do not contain the imprint.
They contains 10 - 21t stamps depicting a Bird of Paradise.  These stamps were printed in 1993 and each stamp bears the text "1993 Bird of Paradise" at the bottom. You will receive 5 booklet containing the scare 1993 stamps only.  The 1992 stamp version is shown only to illustrate the difference in the fold.
