Hi there….. Thanks for your interest in my item.

Unfortunately I’ve recently been a victim of a scammer (hence the recent blip in my feedback).

A person who ordered a vintage magazine from my personal collection, either swapped for an inferior copy or damaged it, to return for a refund. But despite my reservations about the return. (See previous feedback which comments on how well items are packed) I decided not to challenge and promptly refunded.

The buyer turned out to be affiliated with a business seller (who for some unknown reason believes I’m some kind of competitor) And used his personal or buying account to order the item solely to leave negative feedback. Including defamatory comments questioning the source of my own images and further commenting about the information I provide on my listings.

(The business seller had exactly the same magazine on sale himself at the time his affiliate ordered mine, it turns out he thinks I’m copying him. How childish is that?)

Potential customers please continue to…..  Buy with confidence.

I own and have at hand ALL items listed. In the very rare case an item is not available it’s likely to be because it sold on another platform.

I will and always will provide as much information about my items to help anyone interested in the item whether it leads to a sale or not.

ALL images are my own, usually WATERMARKED. Or in some circumstances may be generic images used by hundreds of other sellers across the net. Which I normally use as a (primary image) to deter unauthorised use of my images elsewhere.

As for the condition of my items which are all from my personal collection. I only want to own and sell the best condition items. (Like most collectors  I value condition of an item above all). Which I’m sure potential buyers of my items understand may involve a premium for the rarity or difficulty of finding the item in new or like new condition.

Thanks for your time.

This magazine has been in storage for years and from my personal collection.

Vintage Black Beat Magazines packed with gossip, photographs and features provide a superb insight of the hugely successful Black American Entertainment Industry during the 80's and are difficult to find in any condition.

I do not have many editions left, only the ones you see on sale. They are strictly sold on first come basis so if you're interested in an edition do not procrastinate as it may not be seen again if sold.

Please note the magazines here are in superb condition for it's age. The inside pages are in fantastic condition. I don't believe the pages of any edition on sale here have tears, ceases or marks of any sort, but I will check throughly on any specific request or purchase.

However small tears on the bind are common due to the way the magazine pages are stapled together.

The unique feature of Black Beat (and Right On!) magazines is that they featured many major entertainers (at the time) within the same editions, sometimes from edition to edition, who are not normally seen in side by side editorials. The articles form a contemporary (at the time) not historical perspective about what these artists were up to during perhaps their most successful period of their careers /life. Although some artists have since disappeared into obscurity, most have become 20th century entertainment icons.

These Right On! and Black Beat magazines are iconic snapshots, featuring many photos not seen on the internet and are so rare and hard to find that this maybe the only opportunity for super fans and serious collectors to obtain them.

This edition features the iconic cover of Whitney Houston, LL Cool J, plus George Michael.
