V Magazine

#50 - WINTER 2007/08

USED in VERY GOOD CONDITION

fter departing from Condé Nast in 2011, editor Carine Roitfeld announced plans to start her own fashion publication, CR Fashion Book, which launched on September 13th 2012. Emphasizing the book's theme, "rebirth", Roitfeld's book focuses on not only the upcoming birth of her own granddaughter, but the birth of her new project; shot by Bruce Weber, the inaugural issue's cover features American model Kate Upton cradling a group of chicks, as well as a second "cover" featuring a young girl and a baby, tying into the theme of youth and rebirth.

Taking a shrewdly unique approach to fashion publication, Roitfeld's book does not include any front-of-book, consisting solely of advertisements and editorials which emphasize a more wholesome vision in comparison to the industry's more erotically-charged spreads. Prior to the book's launch, the official site has slowly been uploaded GIFs, teaser videos and previews, including a shot of Dutch model, Lara Stone in Céline, and now showcases the front-of book stories absent from the publiction itself
