   helps Lions top Bears 20-16 in see-saw game!

 

* December 6, 1953 at Briggs Stadium – Interceptions and fumbles mark the re-match game two weeks

   later, as the Lions turn back the Bears 13-7 in front of 58,000!

 

* December 16, 1956 at Connie Mack Stadium – Giants clinch Eastern Conference Championship with a convincing 21-7win over Eagles.   Kyle Rote, Frank Gifford and Alex Webster score the Giants TD’s.               Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions meet the Bears at Wrigley Field for the Western Conference Championship.       Bear linebacker Joe Fortunato’s 27-yd interception return for a TD clinches the game and title for Chicago!      So, It’ll be the Giants against the Bears for the NFL Championship!

 

* THE BIG ONE! (Color) – Giants vs Bears NFL Championship Game at Yankee Stadium!   Beautiful, closeup color shots of Bears coach “Paddy” Driscoll, George Blanda, Ed Brown, Harlon Hill, J.C. Caroline, Bill McColl, Rick Casares, George Halas and Sid Luckman.   Also shown are Giants head coach Jim Lee Howell, 26-year-old Frank Gifford, Roosevelt Greer, Dick Modzelewski, Emlen Tunnell, Kyle Rote, and QB   “Chuckin’ Charlie Conerly.   Giants return the kickoff to the Bear 37, promptly score, and it’s all downhill for        Chicago after that, as Giants completely dominate the Bears in a lopsided game, 47-7.   Rick Casares scores the only Chicago TD in the second quarter on a nine yard run.   New York’s Ben Agajanian kicks two field goals and five conversions in the romp! 

 

* Saturday night August 24, 1957 at Xavier Stadium – Bears face young Baltimore Colts in pre-season game at Cincinnati.   Closeups of Harlon Hill, George Blanda, coach Weeb Eubank, young Johnny Unitas and rookie kicker-QB Cotton Davidson.   In a wild one, Bears score 10 points in the last three minutes of the game to tie Colts 24-24!

 

* October 20, 1957 at Wrigley Field – Bear sensation Willie Galimore score an NFL season high 4 TD’s in one game, as Bears beat L.A. Rams 34-26 in Chicago!

 

* December 8, 1957 at Comiskey ParkCardinal fumbles, plus TD’s by Willie Galimore and Jim Dooley combine to defeat Chicago Cardinals 14-6 in battle of cross-town rivals!
