Dazzling Vintage Early to Mid 1970s Enamel on Copper Dish by noted  mid-century enamellist Harold "Bill" Helwig(1938-2012) . Signed and numbered # 70127 by the artist.  4" D . Excellent condition. some minor chipping on edge. Bill Helwig's work is highly collectible. He was one of the most imaginative and technically-adept enamellist working in the medium. His surface treatments were influenced by the writings of Nietzshe, Sartre and Camus and the Art of Albrecht Durer and Giambattista Tiepolo.  He was active in the American Crafts Council and was a Professor of Design at SUNY Buffalo. This Amazing Enamellist is represented in many Museum and Private Collections.  The Dish is a fine example of Helwig's technical experimentation and intricate narratives. Very Collectible.
