Start your Brownie troop right here!

Juliette Gordon Low started the first Girl Guides troop* in the United States on March 12, 1912.

Were you enrolled in scouting at one time?  Or do you have a child enrolled in scouting? Here is a sweet doll to start your very own troop or to give as a gift & treasure for years to come. This is the Official 1946, Brownie Scout, all cloth doll by Georgene Novelties, circa 1946-50s, measuring 13" tall, as pictured and *described in detail on page 35, "Scouting Dolls-through the years"-Sutton & Moyer. She has a molded mask face with swivel head, blond yellow, embroidery floss hair parted in the center with thick curly bangs and a long, thick braids. She has big blue, side-glancing painted eyes with hi-lites, long painted eyelashes and brows, closed mouth and rosy cheeks and is wearing all her original,  brown cotton, short-sleeved dress with pointed collar and upper pocket and brown snap buttons with matching brown cotton belt with brown snap closure and matching brown cotton shorts. She just needs shoes & socks and her beanie hat.

She has floppy joints at her shoulders and hips and mitt-type hands. These dolls were discontinued long ago and are getting quite hard to find in nice condition. What a delightful and collectible doll to add to your collection (loc 21 #5011). She does not look to have ever been displayed or played with and is in excellent condition with vibrant color, no fading or dust, no stains or damages, no repairs and no odors and is from a smoke free home. Other Scouting dolls shown are not included and each listed separately.

Please note: nearly all of our items are antique or vintage (usually with some signs of wear due to usage and previous storage). We do our very best to describe and photograph them for you and do not repair, restring, repaint or enhance them in any way as most collectors prefer to find them in their original state. Please use the zoom feature on our photos as they are an important part of the description.
