Authentic Mud Cloth African Handwoven Bambara Fabric (Plain White)

The cotton fabric is first woven on a loom by skilled artisans. It is made from handwoven cotton fabric that is dyed using fermented mud. The traditional African Mud-cloth piece is handwoven in Mali and made at once.


Purpose:

The hunters wear the Mud cloth as ritual protection and a badge of status. Immediately after childbirth, women are wrapped in the fabric, which is believed to have the power to absorb pain and deflect anything harmful or dangerous and the West African warriors and hunters wear the fabric to camouflage themselves.
