This is an easy to carry guitar tuner that simply clips on to your guitar, banjo, ukulele, violins, bass, 6 string or most other stringed instruments and allows you to tune it quickly and accurately.
It's battery powered and there's a CR2032 battery included in the box, ready for you to insert into the tuner.
The display is backlit so you'll be able to read it easily, even if there's not as much light in your rehearsal room as you'd like.
Depending on the instrument you're tuning, you'll select either the note name or the string number - there are different selections for chromatic, guitar, bass, violin or ukelele.
Then - making sure the tuner is suitably clipped to your instrument - play a single note on the string you want to tune. The screen colour changes and the on-screen meter moves. If the note is flat, the meter will point to the left. If it's sharp, the meter will point to the right. The display will remind you of the note name or string number.
As with any new device, it takes a bit of time to fully learn how to use it but it's as idiot proof as possible! It's certainly a lot less fiddly than trying to use an app and figure out where to hold everything.
Depending on the wood your instrument is made from, you may need to experiment to get the best results - this applies to any kind of digital tuner as they work from the vibration caused when you pluck a string, so if the wood is dense it won't transmit the vibration. To overcome that, move it closer to the string you're tuning.
There's no "off" button - it switches itself off after a short time to conserve the battery.
