The development of the aircraft began in 1966. The first prototype aircraft equipped with the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-27 (2 x 715 hp), began flying tests on April 16, 1969. Years L-410 “Turbolet” (other names: L-410, Year-410, Turbolet) is a multi-purpose twin-engine aircraft for local airlines (IAL). Designed by the design office of the Czechoslovak plant Let Kunovice (now the Czech Aviation Plant).
