This important historic event testifies to the restoration of justice and guarantees the spiritual freedom of Ukrainians. The tomos, which was approved by the Bishop’s Council of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, declares the Ukrainian Orthodox Church a canonic autocephalous church, making it the 15th local (autonomous) Orthodox church.
