Muller frères

A nice pair of authentic 1930 French art deco wall sconces in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding beautiful feather shaped slip shades in clear frosted moulded-pressed glass by Muller. The clear glass was frosted by acid and then hand polished to create glossy transparent highlights. The wall lights are 24,5 cm high (9.65") 16,7 cm (6.57") wide and project 26,5 cm (10.43") from the wall. They are in very good condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the fixtures. The usual small chips on the rim where the shades glide in the mounts. They are hidden by the fixtures. The lamps come rewired. For the USA Canada or Japan I will wire them with American candelabra base sockets. For European countries I will place E14 ones.

Both shades are signed Muller frères Luneville. Which in this case is very important since original signed Muller ones are very rare.  Around 1980-2000 the French glass factory Vianne made unsigned re-editions in large volumes. (Chandeliers with six of these unsigned Vianne shades are nowadays sold on flea markets for around 200 dollars). The rare authentic ones from the 20s and 30s are always signed with the Muller signature. The old Muller catalog I show on the last picture is of course no part of this sale.
