Handsome
original steel engraving from a sketch by William Henry Bartlett,
printed more than 130 years ago.
- It is titled The
Narrows, Lake George
- The image area measures 5" x
7" on a larger
sheet of heavy paper (overall size: 9½" x 12¼"). It was
engraved by F.W. Topham.
- The view depicts a small stretch of the central section
of the lake north of Bolton on the east side of Tongue Mountain.
- Two small craft are in the water, a sailing canoe and a row boat with a
fisherman. Shorelines are thickly forested,
and a steep peak can be seen through the clouds in the distance.

Condition: This engraving is in very good
condition, bright
and clean,
with no marks, rips, or tears. It is uncolored, as
issued, and is blank on the back, with no printing on the reverse side.
