You are bidding on a 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMS Astraea ( 1893 ), the Astraea Class cruiser , which served in the Royal Navy from 1895 to 1919.

Astraea, began her long life when her keel laid as the Devonport Royal Dockyard, on August 14, 1890.  She was launched on March 17, 1893, and commissioned into the Royal Navy on November 5, 1895.

After service in the Great War, she was sold for scrap in 1920.

Photograph one is undated and shows an overall waterline starboard beam view.

Item two is a photo quality 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing her ships unofficial badge, general characteristics, callsigns ( 1906 & 1912 ) a 1904 line drawing, trivia and the ensigns she proudly flew.
