Cast Metal Fittings with  Silver Finish

6/30/22 back in stock. The newest versions aren't such a shiny silver, a definite improvement in my opinion.

These are proper size and weight for a sgian dubh, designed to be stuck in top of hose. There are five different styles of these with different motifs, finish, fittings and 'gemstone'. The emblems all have special significance in Scottish culture. This one emblazoned with a Highlander pipes. Pommel is a faceted red 'gemstone'. The thistle that appears on all these sgian dubhs is an emblem of Scotland's high chivalric order, the Order of the Thistle and also appears in the base of the Royal Coat of Arms. The so-called ‘guardian thistle’ is also the origin of one of Scotland's official mottos No-one harasses me with impunity.
