Up for bid is an unusual English sterling standup picture frame by the noted jeweler Stephen Dweck, dated 1988. The round frame is about 6 1/8 inches in diameter. It has a sterling front with applied budding twigs around the sides and a 3-D beetle at the bottom. It has a molded back rim covered in blue velvet, with a 5 1/8 inch round opening for a picture. There is a glass front, and the back is held in place with three swiveling pointed tabs. The back has a fold-out stand. The rim has a maker’s mark of [RC] with Sheffield hallmarks for 1988. The back has an applied silver plaque that reads “© 1988 / Stephen Dweck / STEPHEN DWECK ® / STERLING”.

Condition on the frame is fair. There are some rim dents or pry marks around the mark and elsewhere on the top edge. Two of the attachment points of the twig decoration have broken free but could likely be reattached easily. The twigs may be bent; it is difficult to tell exactly what it is supposed to look like. Regardless, a rare vintage sterling frame by an important modern jeweler.
