This is a vintage gold coloured alloy necklace featuring an octopus.
The octopus has eight limbs and whilst I'm not sure precisely which of the 300 different species of octopus this is modelled on, it's instantly recognisable as one.
You might have encountered an octopus in real life or seen one (maybe predicting things!) on television. Or you may have seen them in battle - the Greek Gorgon was likely modelled on an octopus - and, of course, they featured in the James Bond movie Octopussy.
Depending on where you've been on holiday, you may also have eaten octopus but obviously this alloy pendant wouldn't make a meal.
The pendant measures approximately 50mm by 40mm and weighs around 10 grams including the long metal chain that it's securely attached to.
