Double faced sheepskin is a single layer of sheepskin which maintains its thermostatic nature.  The outer skin (Tanned Leather) as well as inner fleece is one single layer that keeps your feet warm in winter and cool in summer.
"Single-faced" sheepskin / lambskin  is where the tannery produces a usable tanned product for the wool side only. The skin side might have an unusually high proportion of marks or the dye is uneven therefore this skin is only suitable to be a "liner". This single-faced material is included in conjunction with cheaper leather such as cowhide.
