When Marilyn Monroe attended the Hollywood Bowl in 1952 she was widely photographed by Bernard of Hollywood among others. Bernard of Hollywood, is perhaps better known as Bruno Bernard (1912 – 1987). He was an American photographer best known for pin-up and glamour photography. Bernard is credited with first photographing Marilyn Monroe at the Racquet Club in Palm Springs, California, in 1947, when she was still Norma Jeane. She is said to have told Bernard:

“Remember, Bernie, you started it all”.
