Most metal jigging lures don’t come with hooks as there are many different configurations used, depending on target species and conditions.

Most of the hooks used when jigging are relatively small in size in comparison to a hook that you would use for the same fish if you are bait fishing. A size 1 heavy gauge assist doesn’t look like it would catch a 20kg kingfish but they do. If you are fishing a medium line class jigging outfit, say 5 – 7kg, and fishing 2kg of drag, than you can get away with a relatively small and light gauge hook. On the opposite side of the coin, you couldn’t run that same hook set up on a 40kg line class jig rod with 12kg of drag.

Keep in mind that a small hook in a heavy gauge steel is very hard to straighten because of the leverage points in its design construction.

Suitable for any heavy duty fishing requirements, but particularly suited for use when making Jig Assist Hook rigs, Swimerz Heavy Duty Jigging Hooks are an inline solid steel hook that is highly rust resistant.

When making Jig Assist Hook rigs you will also need jigging cord, split and/or solid rings, and shrink sleeves to suit your jig and target species. All available within the Swimerz range of products

    Returns Policy:-  
  • Buyers may return their Goods if defective, or don't match the description provided, within 7 days of the items receipt. Contact us and provide a) a full description of the problem, and b) an image of the item clearly indicating the problem. It may be that we can resolve the problem without a return being required.
  • If the Goods are to be returned we will issue a Returns Advice. Goods must be returned unopened in its original packaging and without any damage not the result of manufacturing faults. Goods returned without the advice will not be accepted.
  • Return postage and any associated costs are the Buyers responsibility.
  • We will endeavor to process your return within 5 business days of receipt of the goods.
  • Please Note - We do not accept returns because a buyer has changed their mind or chosen the wrong item.
  • On receipt of a package from us you should inspect the package closely before opening it. If damage to the packaging is apparent you should refuse delivery and have the package returned to us by the responsible carrier. On return from the carrier, we will reship the goods to you, at no cost to you. Packages that, in our exclusive opinion, appear to have been opened prior to return will be deemed to have been interfered with, any claim fraudulent, and no returns will be recognized.

  • In most cases goods will be sent by Australia Post Standard Domestic Mail services or Australia Post Parcel Post services for larger items, unless the Buyer chooses to have their item sent by Australia Post Registered Mail or Express Post when offered, at an additional cost.
