Circuits and Concepts has developed a high performance, high efficiency regulator assembly to replace the BURNING HOT RESISTORS on the main board (MA-508) of the CARVER MXR-130, MXR-150 (THE RECEIVER) stereo receivers. The new regulator runs super-cool, and replaces the ugliest part of the receiver--the burned-up resistors! The kit includes the following items:

One High Performance, High Efficiency regulator assembly to replace the 4 burning hot resistors on the MA-508 receiver main board.
Four Power Resistors to replace the 4 burned up power resistors on the Noise Reduction Board (these run cool with the new regulator).
Installation manual that gives detailed instructions with photos, showing how to replace the parts. The instruction manual also shows how to clean the control potentiometers (Volume, balance, tone, etc) and switches for continued, trouble-free operation. The installation manual is a full-color PDF document delivered via e mail.

Look at the photos to see the parts installed. The new regulator and resistors run very cool, and will add years to the life of your receiver. Our measurements show the temperature of the original resistors 83 degrees C over ambient on the MA-508 board, and 110 degrees C over ambient on the Noise Reduction board!

The parts can be replaced by a person with limited soldering skills. A soldering iron, solder wick and solder are needed to replace the parts. Use standard safety precautions (wear safety glasses, unplug the unit before soldering, good ventilation, etc) when working on your gear. When you're done soldering, always wash your hands, because solder contains lead. Please note that replacing components will fix the receiver only if one of those components was the problem to start with!
