El estado del disco se basa en los siguientes criterios tomados deDiscogs: 

Mint (M) (Nuevo) 

Absolutamente perfecto en todos los sentidos. Ciertamente nunca se ha usado,posiblemente aún precintado. Debe usarse con moderación como grado, si esque lo hace. 

Near Mint (NM o M-) (Como Nuevo) 

Un estado casi perfecto. Es muy probable que nunca se haya sido usado unestado NM- y el vinilo se reproducirá perfectamente, sin imperfecciones durantela reproducción. Muchos de los vendedores no darán una calificación más altaque esto, lo que implica (tal vez correctamente) que el disco no siempre esperfecto. El disco no debe mostrar signos evidentes de desgaste. La cubiertade 45 RPM o EP no debe tener más que los defectos más pequeños, comocualquier signo de leve manejo. Una cubierta de LP no debe tener arrugas,pliegues ni costuras. divisiones, agujeros recortados u otros defectos similaresnotables. Lo mismo debería ser cierto para cualquier otro inserto, comocarteles, fundas líricas, etc. 

Very Good Plus (VG +) ( Muy Bueno Plus) 

Generalmente vale el 50% del valor Near Mint. Un registro de Very Good Plusmostrará algunas señales de que fue usado y manejado por un propietarioanterior que lo cuido bien. Los defectos deben ser más de naturalezacosmética, no afectar a la reproducción real en su conjunto. Las superficies deregistro pueden mostrar algunos signos de desgaste y puede tener rasguñosleves o rasguños muy leves que no afectaran a la experiencia de la escucha.Las deformaciones leves que no afectan el sonido son "OK". La etiqueta puedetener algo de desgaste del anillo o decoloración, pero debe ser apenasperceptible. Marcas de husillo pueden estar presentes. Carpeta y carpetainterior tendrá un ligero desgaste, esquinas ligeramente dobladas hacia arriba ouna ligera división de la costura. La cubierta de LP puede tener leves signos dedesgaste, y puede estar estropeada por un agujero recortado, sangría, oesquina cortada. En general, si no fuera por un par de cosas menores mal conesto, esto sería Near Mint. 

Very Good (VG) (Muy Bueno) 

Generalmente vale el 25% del valor de Near Mint. Muchos de los defectosencontrados en un VG + el estado será más pronunciado en un disco VG. Elruido superficial será evidente, especialmente en pasajes suaves y durante laintroducción y desvanecimiento de una canción, pero no dominara la música. Eldesgaste del surco comenzará a ser notable, con rasguños leves (lo suficientemente profundos como para sentir con una uña) que afectarán alsonido. Las etiquetas pueden estropearse por escrito o tener cinta adhesiva oadhesivos (o su residuo) adjunto. Lo mismo se aplicará a las fundas interiores ocubiertas de LP. Sin embargo, no tendrá todos estos problemas al mismotiempo. 

Good (G), Good Plus (G +) (Bien), (Bien Plus) 

Generalmente vale el 10-15% del valor Near Mint. Un estado en Good o GoodPlus se puede reproducir sin saltarse. Pero tendrá un significativo ruidosuperficial, rasguños y desgaste visible de la ranura. Una funda o carpetatendrá divisiones de costura, especialmente en la parte inferior o en la columnavertebral. Cinta, escritura, desgaste del anillo u otros defectos estaránpresentes. Si bien el registro se podrá reproducir sin omitir, el ruido superficialnotable y las "chasquidos" seguramente acompañarán la reproducción. 

Poor (P), Fair (F) (Mal), (Regular) 

Generalmente vale 0-5% del precio Near Mint. El disco está roto, deformado yno se reproducirá sin saltar o repetir. La imagen de la portada está dañada porel agua, dividida en las tres costuras y muy desgastada por el desgaste yescrita. La cubierta de LP apenas mantiene el LP dentro. Las portadas internasestán totalmente divididas, arrugadas y escritas. 

Mint (M) 

Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even stillsealed. Should be used sparingly as a grade, if at all. 

Near Mint (NM or M-) 

A nearly perfect record. A NM- record has more than likely never been played,and the vinyl will play perfectly, with no imperfections during playback. Manydealers won't give a grade higher than this implying (perhaps correctly) that norecord is ever truly perfect. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. A45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, suchas any sign of slight handling. An LP cover should have no creases, folds, seamsplits, cut-out holes, or other noticeable similar defects. The same should betrue of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, etc. 

Very Good Plus (VG+) 

Generally worth 50% of the Near Mint value. A Very Good Plus record will showsome signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner whotook good care of it. Defects should be more of a cosmetic nature, not affectingthe actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one'slistening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". Thelabel may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barelynoticeable. Spindle marks may be present. Picture sleeves and inner sleeveswill have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. AnLP cover may have slight signs of wear, and may be marred by a cut-out hole,indentation, or cut corner. In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrongwith it, this would be Near Mint. 

Very Good (VG) 

Generally worth 25% of Near Mint value. Many of the defects found in a VG+record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident uponplaying, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but willnot overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, aswith light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect thesound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or theirresidue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers.However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time. Goldmine priceguides with more than one price will list Very Good as the lowest price. 

Good (G), Good Plus (G+) 

Generally worth 10-15% of the Near Mint value. A record in Good or Good Pluscondition can be played through without skipping. But it will have significantsurface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will haveseam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, orother defects will be present. While the record will be playable without skipping,noticeable surface noise and "ticks" will almost certainly accompany theplayback. 

Poor (P), Fair (F) 

Generally worth 0-5% of the Near Mint price. The record is cracked, badlywarped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating. The picturesleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wearand writing. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fullysplit, crinkled, and written upon.
