The 50pence is for scale only

The laser process produces a medium brown finish to the edges of the plywood, this along with any marks on the face of the item can be removed by a light sanding or simply painting over.

This is made of ply wood! Why not MDF? 

Plywood is considerably lighter than MDF

Its stronger for it thickness

Doesn't need priming to get a good coat of paint on it

MDF absorbs water like a sponge and swells.
