New replacement rubber band kit for Gunther Vertigo, Nexus, Shadow, Titan and Sky Flash Airplanes

Gunther airplanes are durable and long-lasting. Often the only they'll have is that the rubber band will eventually break. When it does we carry the genuine Gunther replacement kit.

Instructions for installing new rubber band- I just did one of these last week so I'd do my best to describe how to install the rubber band.

  1. Unwrap the rubber band with its two plastic holders (orange and yellow). Do not unhook either holder from the rubber band unit. It is looped into thirds to match the proper length of the fuselage and also provide more longevity and power.

  2.  Remove the vertical stabilizer from the airplane by lower wire away from the fuselage and then pulling the wire that goes through the top portion of the fuselage up until the stabilizer is free.

  3. Remove the horizontal stabilizer by pulling it out of the fuselage.

  4. Remove the propeller unit from the fuselage by pulling it forward from the fuselage. Wiggling it back and forth helps.

  5. Shake the fuselage to remove and remaining bits of the old rubber band.

  6. Feed the orange holder through the fuselage until it comes out the end. If it won't make it all the way out attach a string to the orange holder and drop it through the fuselage and pull it out the tail end.

  7. Unhook the looped rubber band from the orange holder and loop it around the tab in the black part of the vertical stabilizer section. Make that all three loops of the rubber band hook around the tab.

  8. Insert the horizontal stabilizer into the fuselage, making sure the rubber bands stay hooked to the stabilizer.

  9. Insert the vertical stabilizer.

  10. Unhook the rubber band unit from the yellow front holder and loop all three rubber band strands into the propeller hook. You might need to stretch the rubber band unit a bit to give you enough room to do this comfortably. (If one of the loops comes loose from either the front or rear, take everything apart and reloop the long rubber band into thirds again).

  11. Once the rubber band is looped around the hook re-install the prop unit into the fuselage.

A couple notes: A drop of oil on the propeller wire will make the propeller spin smoothly. After installing a new rubber band break it in by going through successively more winds. Start with 50 winds for a couple flights, they go to 100, then 150. After 7-8 times the rubber band will be able to handle maximum winds (250 or so)
