ANNABERGER STEINGUTFABRIK Pair of Mouse Figurines: Mouse Maids in Yellow Housekeeping Mice (MADE IN GERMANY)
Vintage pair of bisque porcelain figurines made by ANNABERGER STEINGUTFABRIK in Germany, circa 1900-1930. Featuring anthropomorphic mouse maids. Mouse maids are seated, dressed in yellow dust caps and yellow outfits fit for housework. Both are depicted with cartoonish faces and grey hair/fur. These mouse maids could portray the mice from Disney’s ‘Cinderella’.
Label(s): Markings on bottom of both have been obscured by age, but become visible when a photo is taken & adjusted for contrast, brightness, saturation, etc., as shown in the final photo. ANNABERGER STEINGUTFABRIK mark, circa 1900-1930.
Mouse #1: Holding a little “To You” she’s embroidered.
Height: ~2.25”
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of aging/wear. No chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs.
Mouse #2: Holding red duster with tears rolling down cheeks.
Height: ~2.25”
Condition: On the backside edge of the very bottom, there’s an extremely minor superficial chip that’s filled in with the same exact pinkish tone—and therefore was there before this piece was hand painted and a result of having been made (most likely from mold removal). See second to last picture for closeup. Otherwise, mouse is in excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of aging/wear. No other chips. No cracks, crazing, or repairs.
