Here today for your consideration we have this sensational Edwardian sterling silver swing-handled bread basket, made by Wilmot Manufacturing Company of Birmingham, c-1913. This superb piece stands atop an oval footed base and includes fine and beautifully executed piercing throughout. The base and rim are completed in a stylistic rim, typical of the Edwardian period. The piece is in great condition, having no major structural damage to note. The handle hinges are well fixed, with the handle much more comfortably sitting in the relaxed position. The piece is hallmarked to both the handle and body, and is unweighted. A superb and versatile basket that will steal the show at your next dinner party.

The basket stands a total of 30cm with handle erect. Across the top rim, the basket measures about 29cm x 18cm. Unpacked, the piece weighs in at a very respectable 629gms.

However, normal signs of use including shallow depressions, fine scratches, and minor pattern and hallmark wear should be expected. All pieces (unless expressly stated above) have undertaken a very light polish with respect to the original patina, and a decision for further polishing will be left to the new custodian.
