The armament also remained the same. Due to the installation of braces, the rigidity of the tank hull increased, and the frontal booking had to be strengthened. There was a reduced size of the air filter, and in the bottom there was a sub-engine hatch. The V-2 diesel engine consumed much less fuel than the aircraft engine previously used on the BT-7. Such efficiency of the engine made it possible to abandon the additional fuel tanks, which on the BT-7 were located on the fenders. Production of the BT-7M continued until 1940. In total, 788 of these tanks were produced, including modified versions equipped with radio stations.
