Revision by Rudy Vallee and Moss Hart, as featured in the 20th Century-Fox motion picture "Winged Victory" (1944), a World War II Army Air Force drama directed by George Cukor, based on the 1943 Moss Hart play of the same name.

"The Whiffenpoof Song" is the traditional closing number of The Whiffenpoofs, the renowned collegiate a cappella singing group at Yale University. Established in 1909, it is the oldest such group in the United States. The song was originally published in 1909.
