PRECISION METAL LEVELLING BEAM & CASE
We believe we have crafted the only fret levelling beam you will ever need. The preloaded beams are designed with the amateur luthier in mind but are used by professionals the world over. In addition we can also supply the beams without any abrasive attached (bare naked if you like) for those who like to add there own abrasives (contact us for details).
Our beams are made using locally sourced high quality Aluminium and finished with a fantastic walnut veneer to provide a little extra width and easier grip.
The beams that are supplied “ready to rock” straight from the box come pre-fitted with emery cloth. Even though it is more expensive, we prefer the longevity and flexibility it offers over the cheaper sandpaper variants. It does not tear easily and is good for multiple fret jobs before needing to be replaced. The end caps not only look great but help in holding the emery cloth in place whilst using the beam.
Why so flat?
At Hellfire we use calibrated surface plates to check that our beams are flat. But lets face it, the emery cloth that is attached cannot be calibrated so why the need for such a high degree of accuracy. Well we believe that potential variances in emery cloth thickness is not an excuse to supply levelling beams that are substandard - what would be the point. So, the aluminium we use is checked and sanded by both hand and machine to ensure the beam you get is as flat as it can be. We use the same technique on our Lil Frockers (Fret Rockers) to ensure that accuracy is never compromised.
