Offered to you is this antique drafting compass set in original wooden box dressed in leather. Made by the Richter & Co Kopernikus Company. Emil Oskar Richter (1841-1907) started out as a clock maker and eventually developed an interest in drawing/drafting tools. He founded E O Richter & Co in Cnemnitz, Saxony, in 1877 a company that manufactured high quality drawing instruments. And in 1892 he patented his "flat system" drop bow twin leaf compass. Once the patent ran out in 1905 many other manufactures started replicating his design. This is a wonderful set and nothing is missing. Very well preserved for its age. Box size: 10” x 4”. Scarce and highly collectible items.
