1000hp geht sofort richtig ab, rau und ungezähmt dokumentiert das Album den Werdegang der Band von den Anfängen in Bostoner Clubs mit einem Debütalbum, das an nur einem einzigen Wochenende aufgenommen wurde bis hin zu den Live Shows in den Stadien dieser Welt.
“Yeah, we made a conscious decision to go back to the streets of Boston for this one,” sagt Sänger Erna. “It doesn’t just capture the spirit of the city. It’s GODSMACK!” “It’s a kick-ass rock tune from what I feel is our most kickass record!” so Drummer Larkin about the single, which leads off the album. “There’s a punk edge and a different energy.”
Produziert wurde das Album wurde von Dave Fortnam (Slipknot, Evanescene etc.), aufgenommen im neuen Godsmack-Headquarter 30 Minuten von Boston entfernt. 1000hp ist Godsmack at it’s best – Groove, Power, rough, aber auch hier und da sind reflektierte Töne zu hören.
