English description: This is a rare and detailed engraving which shows a birds-eye view of the village of Altdorf (UR) at the shores of the Urnersee. The engraving is enriched by a key that names the 12 most important buildings and a nice coat of arms. It was published by Matthäus Merian in 1641, measures 21 x 33 cm (platesize) and is in good condition. The centrefold has been skillfully restored at the lower end. Reference: Fauser 258.
