Englisch description:A decorative and rare plan of the city of Gent in Belgium at the end of the 16th century. The view in original colours is further enriched by two cartouches and two coats of arms. German text on verso. This original engraving derives from Braun & Hogenberg's "Civitates Orbis Terrarum". It was printed around the year 1580, measures 34 x 48 cm (platesize) and is in good condition. It is slightly browned by age and there are two minor, restored tears in the margin areas.
