A lightweight, rugged mountaineering boot designed for alpine mountaineering,
trekking, via Ferrata, mountain backpacking , snowshoeing. The Condor Evo GTX
has a hard-wearing Perwanger suede leather upper and a durably waterproof and
breathable GORE-TEX® Performance Comfort lining for optimized climate comfort
in changing weather conditions. Our proprietary 3F System offers flexibility,
heelsupport and a precise blister-free fit, whilst the 3D Lacing allows you to adjust at
the forefoot and midfoot, and Climbing Lacing allow you to fine-tune the fit at the toes
for greater precision on technical terrain. It’s crampon-compatible construction is built
around a stiff nylon and 27% fibreglass insole and is suitable for use with semi-
automatic crampons. Underfoot, the self-cleaning Vibram Teton outsole has
a generous contact zone at the toe for better grip on rock and high lugs and an
undercut heel for optimal traction and secure braking on mud, grass and snow.

REVIEWS:  Search engine - 'Salewa Condor Evo Reviews'.  The boots score highly.

"The Salewa Condor is undoubtedly the most serious-looking boot here. They are the only ones with
a warm gusseted cuff and that cuff is higher than on the rest of the boots. Salewa say they are for
“Alpine spring routes on snow, ice and rocks.” I reckon they’d also work nicely for Scottish winters.

Remarkably, they’re far from the heaviest here. The uppers are high quality Perwanger suede and there’s a very
wide rubber rand. Like many Salewa boots, they use the distinctive 3F system (it’s the wires working across the
rear of the boot) that they claim allows the foot to move more freely. It’s certainly allows freedom of movement,
while maintaining lateral stability.

Unlike La Sportiva’s Trango there’s a good roll across the sole and I could happily walk distances in this before
donning the crampons. I could probably get fairly high too, thanks to the sparsely lugged sole unit that grips very
well. The lacing goes far down the toe, like the Asolo, and locks on the third eylet. It grips confidently around the
forefoot, perfect for scrambling. There are cleats in the heel for crampons. Of the boots here, these are the ones I’d
pick up most for winter mountaineering, but they’d be way too warm for out-of-season use.
