Take your taste buds on a journey with this one of a kind sauce! Dr. Trouble Chilli Sauce is a premium and unique hot sauce with nothing added other than natural ingredients sourced from some of the remotest, wild areas of the upper Zambezi valley in Southern Africa.

Double Oak Smoked Chilli
A piquant hot sauce with clean lemon and full-bodied oak smoke, with a touch of mango masala. It is made with a blend of 25% Bird's Eye chilli and 75% Cayenne. Works well with all BBQ dishes, red meats and cheese, and is the perfect partner for the traditional English fried egg and bacon breakfast. 

Lemon Chilli
A strong, clean lemon flavour with notes of ginger, mango masala and a touch of garlic. A medium heat sauce that blends 75% Bird's Eye chilli with 25% Cayenne. It's most often paired with chicken, fish, sliced avocado dishes, guacamole, and even Bloody Mary's. Works well with freshly cooked spinach and steamed vegetables.

BBQ Royale
A luxurious and piquant African BBQ sauce, batch-made using a blend of tomatoes, blackstrap molasses, fire roasted Cherry Peppers and the famous spices of Biltong. Two years of development led to this mouth-watering sauce. Thick, tangy and piquant, it can be described as an African twist on the classic Kansas City style BBQ. 

The big bottle has no heat so even the kids can experience it, and the small bottle packs our cheekiest punch yet. Perfect for BBQ, burgers and basting.

  1. The Double Oak Smoked Chilli sauce was awarded a Gold Star at the Great Taste Awards. The Great Taste Awards is the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink awards with impartial feedback from chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers.
  2. The third annual Aurora International Taste Challenge took place at the end of September 2021 in Cape Town, South Africa, to celebrate and pay tribute to universal food quality. Both the Double Oak Smoked Chilli and BBQ Royale sauce were awarded a silver medal.
  3. The Double Oak Smoked Chilli and Lemon Chilli sauce was awarded the Guild of Fine Food. The Guild of Fine Food was formed in 1995 with a mission to support artisan food and drink producers and the independent delicatessens.
About the Sauce
Dr. Trouble Chilli Sauce is a limited quantity, small batch, artisanal sauce, produced on a northern Zimbabwean farm, in a custom-built Food Standards Certified facility. Dr. Trouble Sauce is unique in that they only use fresh lemon juice instead of the more commonly used (and cheaper) preservative vinegar. There are no artificial preservatives, thickeners or colourants used in the recipe, making Dr Trouble Sauce a truly all-natural product. 

The lemons they use are sourced from organic trees from the tribal lands in the Zambezi Valley of Zimbabwe, providing a vital source of income to rural people living in one of the most isolated parts of the world. Their high-quality Cayenne and Bird's Eye chillies are grown to the highest ethical standards, with full traceability. They are hand-graded to ensure only the finest quality are used in the sauce. 

Dr. Trouble Sauce is batch-fermented in custom-blown glass flagons for up to 100 days, under the abundant African sun. The salt is sourced from the Botswana salt pans, which is unique for its exceptional flavour. The chillies are roasted vigorously in a flame filled chilli roast oven, slightly charring the pods to concentrate and bring out the subtle flavours.
