There is always one beautiful and truly unique fossil in a collection that stands out more than any of the others, and this may very well be the one!!! You are looking at an "extremely rare" complete lower jaw of the ferocious, and well known Devonian Age(approx. 360 m.y.o.) prehistoric armored placoderm fish DUNKLEOSTEUS!!! This impressive and unique fossil specimen discovered and excavated in Morocco measures 12" in length and 4" in height at the front "fang-like" cusp. This complete lower jaw is in excellent condition with minimal repair and restoration. A black and white photograph of this fossil highlighted in red showing where the exact areas of restoration are will be included along with an identification card and clear plastic display stand.  The bone is well fossilized, with good gray/tan color and detail. A small area of natural matrix remains, with a flattened bottom making for a natural display stand. Armored fish remains are extremely rare and normally fragmented from this location(Morocco). Fossils of the predatory armored fish DUNKLEOSTEUS are especially difficult and near impossible to obtain due to their rarity.
