Up for sale is a great, original, ANTIQUE MAP from "REPORTS OF EXPLORATIONS AND SURVEYS TO ASCERTAIN THE PRACTICABILITY OF A SHIP-CANAL, BETWEEN THE ATLANTIC AND PACIFIC OCEANS, BY THE WAY OF THE ISTHMUS OF TEHUANTEPEC (MEXICO) - NAVY DEPARTMENT". 1872
It is a black and white map, "SHOWING THE ROUTE PROPOSED FOR SUPPLYING WITH WATER THE SUMMIT LEVEL OF THE TEHUANTEPEC SHIP CANAL". It has several folds from how it was originally bound.
It is blank on the reverse side.
It is approximately 40" x 26", including the border area.

It is generally in Good Condition. There is age related browning and toning and some spotting and stains. There are nicks/chips and some creases along the edges. There are some tears at the corners of the folds and along the fold lines (see photos). Larger tear in the middle of the left edge. Other dings here and there, as well.
This would be a great addition to any collection and will look very nice when framed!
