• The cartography is by Rand McNally. The code number in the lower margin is 3-4715-6.



• On the reverse side there are detailed maps of Nantucket Sound, Boston Harbor, Narragansett Bay, and the Cape Cod Canal, along with a tidal chart for 1953.



• The map was published by Texaco Waterways Service, 135 East 42nd Street, New York, in 1953 and is dated on the cover.



• It is identified as Chart No. 1, one of nine cruising charts published by Texaco in 1953.



• Condition:  This map has a small round burn mark, possibly from a hot ember that escaped from a pipe clenched in the teeth of a skipper who'd sailed these waters more than 65 years ago.
